    MEACO symposium at the ESCRS Winter meeting
    Istanbul, Turkey, 18-20 February, 2011

    An ESCRS-MEACO symposium entitled "Cataract Surgery in the Diseased Eye" is scheduled for Saturday, 19 February  2011 during the 15th ESCRS Winter Meeting. The symposium will be chaired by Dr. Ahmed ElMassry (Egypt). The winter meeting is scheduled from 18-20 February 2011 and is held in conjunction with the Turkish Ophthalmological Society, Cataract & Refractive Surgery Division.

    International Ophthalmic Symposium at King Fahad Research Center
    Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 20-22 January 2011

    King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Ophthalmology Society and Magrabi Hospitals & Centers will be organizing an international teaching symposium, at the King Fahad Research Centre, Jeddah Saudi Arabia from 20-22 January 2011. Dr. Robert Ritch, of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, will be leading a team of international experts to present updates on eye diseases and researches, with interactive clinical and specialty group teaching sessions.

    Topics to be covered include new innovations in medical imaging, Nano-technology applications, stem cell applications, gene therapy applications, Uveitis, Glaucoma.

    First Announcement: Nadi Al Bassar 14th International Course
    Tunis, Tunisia , 3-4 June, 2011

    NADI AL BASSAR, Alexandria University (Egypt) in collaboration with MEACO is pleased to announce the 14th International course, which will be held on 3-4 June  2011 in the city of Tunis,Tunisia.

    Symposia topics that will be covered are Prevention of Blindness, Retina & Uveitis (in collaboration with Middle East Africa Vitreo-Retina Society - MEAVRS), Glaucoma (in collaboration with Middle East Africa Glaucoma Society - MEAGS), Pediatric Ophthalmology and Cataract.

    Call for Abstracts for WOC 2012, Abu Dhabi, UAE, 16-20 February 2012

    The abstract submission for the World Ophthalmology Congress 2012 to be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from 16-20 February, 2012 is now open. Abstracts can be submitted in the form of free papers, posters, videos, instruction courses. The abstract submission deadline is 1 June 2011.
