Welcome to MEACO

The Middle East African Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO) is a coordinating platform for ophthalmology societies in the Middle East and Africa. Its primary objective is to raise awareness among the public and private sectors regarding preventing blindness in the region. In addition, MEACO collaborates with its member societies to design and implement educational and training programs for healthcare professionals. These initiatives aim to enhance their competencies, skills, and knowledge, thereby improving eye care services in the Middle East and Africa.

The Middle East African Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO) represents and advocates for professional ophthalmic societies in the region, facilitating their development and technological progress. MEACO endeavors to promote ophthalmic education and eye care while supporting the larger ophthalmic profession. Currently, MEACO is recognized for organizing one of the world's most significant ophthalmology conferences, with a global reach.
